Turkey, Feb 2007 - April 2007 Central Asia, May 2007 – June 2007 Mongolia, July 2007 – Nov 2007.
Origin of the journey? I guess, Istanbul. Destination; Mongolia, but eventually ended up in South Korea.
10 countries visited; Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia, Korea.
Turkey's Black Sea coast to the fabled 'Noahs Ark' on the Iranian border, Azerbaijan oil capitol of Baki, bizzare ferry schedules on the Caspian (in fact bizarre ferry! curious how it stayed afloat). Taking pictures of golden leader statues that rotate with the sun (an arrestable offence !), classic 'silk route' cities such as Bukhara. Beauty of the Russian Altai region, vastness of the Mongolian steppes, horses of Kyrgyzstan, rolling the truck (over not forward), getting arrested, getting robbed. The overwhelming friendliness and everything just right in South Korea.
