About 500km North West of UlaanBataar my front wheel bearing disintergrated, stripped the wheel down to find outer bearing intact but inner completely dead. Did a hasty rebuild with plenty grease and worked my way very gently to the next nearest village about 30kms away.
Then headed in taxi here to the big city but after 5 days of trying absolutely everywhere have been unable to locate even 1 bearing, either new or s/h.
Have now ordered in via a friend of a friend a set from Netherlands coming by DHL but this will still take another 7 to 10 days to arrive which means we have to extend our visa for here and seriously eats into our time in Russia. We have to be at ferry port 200kms south of Vlad (4800kms from here) before 5th september latest.
